WELCOME TO THE MASSWATER DASHBOARD!

This dashboard is a browser-based, step-by-step tool for using the MassWateR workflow. MassWateR is an R package for quality control, analysis, and sharing of discrete surface water quality data. The package was created through partnership with the Mass Bays National Estuary Partnership.

About this Dashboard

This dashboard provides a step-by-step interface to the MassWateR workflow:

  1. Upload & Validate - Import and check your water quality data files for formatting and completeness
  2. Outlier Assessment - Identify and review potential outliers in surface water quality results
  3. QC Reporting - Assess data quality objectives including accuracy, completeness, and frequency; generate automated reports
  4. WQX Output - Prepare data for submission to EPA’s Water Quality Exchange
  5. Visualize - Explore trends, summaries, and maps of your data

Steps 2-5 become available in the navigation bar at the top as data are uploaded and validated. See the Upload & Validate tab for more info about the required files. The requirements to open each tab are as follows:

  • Outlier Assessment: results, accuracy
  • QC Reporting: results, accuracy, frequency/completeness (censored optional)
  • WQX Output: results, accuracy, sites, WQX metadata
  • Visualize: results, accuracy, sites

Each page includes a popup help box that describes what is shown and how to navigate the content. Just click the to view this information.

Getting Started

Upload your data files in the Upload & Validate tab to begin. An overview of MassWateR’s functionality, required datasets, and formatting instructions are described in the package’s Getting Started vignette.
